    Waterfront UTC is seeking to appoint a member of staff to join our Science Department. The successful candidate will be an enthusiastic, talented, and passionate Teacher of Science, to start from September 2024 or January 2025.

    You will have excellent subject knowledge and be confident that students in your care will make exceptional progress. This is a great opportunity for someone to join a team which is forward-thinking and focused on doing the very best for every student.

    We have an ambitious vision for our school driven by our excellent team to ensure our students experience as much Outstanding and Good practice as possible. In line with this, we are looking for a candidate who can regularly deliver lessons to these standards.

    This is a full time, 32.5 hours per week, permanent role, paid based on MPS/UPS/UNQ, dependant on experience, and a recruitment incentive of £5k as outlined below. 

    The school is offering a recruitment incentive of £5k. This is split into the following payments - £2.5k subject to the successful completion of a 6 month probationary period, and a further £2.5k to be paid in September '25 as a retention incentive. This is subject to the successful candidate remaining at the school for at least that next year.

    This position would suit an experienced or Early Career Teacher with good prospects for career development.

    The Leadership team, led by the Principal, is hands-on, focused on creating a calm and positive work environment with high standards of behaviour. This allows staff to concentrate on delivering quality lessons without worrying about unnecessary workload, ensuring a positive work-life balance. The MFL Department is highly successful, with strong international connections, including projects with schools as far as the Maldives. The Department is led by an experienced leader who supports and coaches staff, offering opportunities for professional growth. The team also provides a variety of extracurricular activities, including trips to Spain, France, and an exchange program in France.

    This is a full time, permanent role, paid based on MPS/UPS, dependant on experience, and a recruitment incentive of £5k as outlined below.

  • Apprentice Premises Operative (£500 Golden Hello)

    Salary Apprentice Minimum Wage + £500 Golden Hello

    The Howard Academy Trust have a new role within the Central Operations Premises Team. This role has arisen due to Trust growth, and expected to begin with immediate effect.

    This is an excellent opportunity for an aspiring future Premises and Estates professional to take their first step in their development. 

    The successful candidate will be a hardworking self-starter, will be proactive, and be able to travel between all schools within the Trust. You will receive a mixture of on the job training and training through your apprenticeship provider. 

    This is a full time, 37 hours per week, all year round, fixed term position. The salary for this role is based on the Apprentice Minimum Wage. The salary is reviewed annually in April in line with the nationally agreed salaries. 

    The Trust is offering a recruitment incentive of £500. This is split into the following payments - £250 subject to the successful completion of a 6 month probationary period, and a further £250 to be paid upon successful completion of the apprenticeship. This is subject to the successful candidate remaining at the Trust for at least that next year.

  • Trainee Management Accountant

    The Howard Academy Trust are delighted to announce an additional role within the Central Operations Team. This role has arisen due to Trust growth, having an additional secondary school joining us in September 2024.

    If you are looking to build your career in accounting or work within the academy sector this will be the right opportunity for you.  The successful candidate will need Maths & English GCSE or equivalent Grade B and above and AAT qualified or other equivalent qualification. You will need to have experience of working with purchase and sales ledger systems, payroll systems and financial systems.

    Training Package- Fully funded CCAB qualification worth £27,000 over the period of the qualification (funded by apprenticeship levy)

    This is a full time, 37 hours per week, permanent position, paid on NJC scale C1 points 6 - 19 (FTE £23,893 - £29,777).

    The Trainee Management Accountant will undertake responsibilities as a member of the Central Trust Team to provide efficient and effective support to meet the Trust’s core Finance responsibilities. They will work closely with the Management Accountant, Finance Manager and Executive Finance Business Manager to deliver timely and accurate monthly management accounts. This post is intended to grow with the Trust and a CCAB training package is included.

The IT Infrastructure Engineer will work with the Head of IT with a focus on managing and maintaining the Trusts IT infrastructure. You will need to ensure that secure, efficient and reliable operations within our schools are maintained to the agreed standard. As part of our continued investment into providing the best possible IT provision to our schools, we are seeking to appoint an Infrastructure engineer to strengthen the team.

    This is a permanent role (22.2 hours per week/0.6 FTE) paid on NJC scale B1 points 20-25 (FTE £35,745 - £38,223 - actual salary calculated on a pro rata basis).

    This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Infrastructure Engineer in a comparable setting to utilise their experience and expertise to ensure that all aspects of the Trust IT infrastructure are meeting the needs of our schools.  As we continue to evolve, we are seeking a talented IT Infrastructure Engineer to join our team and contribute to our mission of safeguarding digital assets and protecting our Trust’s data.     Waterfront UTC is a secondary school based in Gillingham, seeking to appoint a Caretaker to  join our team to assist with the day-to-day maintenance and cleaning of our school site.  You will need to manage a heavy workload and have a friendly and approachable disposition.  The role is hands-on and jobs will Include meeting tradesmen, distributing deliveries, setting out rooms for exams and school events, DIY, clearing bins and litter.

    This is a full time, 37 hours per week, all year round, permanent role, paid based on the NJC payscale D2 points 4-11 (FTE £23,114 - £25,979).

    The working week will consist of Monday - Friday, with daily working pattern to be agreed during the interview stage, including a 1 hour unpaid break each day.

    The Abbey School is seeking to appoint a Community Sports Centre Supervisor. The successful candidate will be required work as part of the Sports and Letting Team to assist with the hire of the school facilities that take place during the evenings and weekends and support the school site team to ensure effective and efficient lettings, cleanliness, safety and security

    This is a full time, permanent role, paid on the Kent Scheme Pay Scale KR5 (FTE £24,040 - £25,002)

    The hours for the role will consist of:

    37 Hours per week, Mon-Sun, evenings and weekends (worked over 5 days so that you have two non-working days per week, shifts between 4.30pm-10.15pm weekdays and 8am-4.30pm weekends (with an unpaid  30 minute break). Shifts to be agreed monthly in advance.

    The main purpose of the role is to cover the hire of facilities primarily based in the Sports Centre, and the main school building during evenings and weekends. The aim is to welcome people who hire our facilities ensuring we meet their requirements, and that the areas are prepped ready for their use. This is a busy role and will involve liaising with our community partners, so a high level of customer service and communication skills is essential.  Previous experience of working in a similar sports related role would be an advantage.
