2025 GCSE and BTEC results

THAT are delighted for our pupils, their families, and our dedicated staff by the GCSE and BTEC results achieved by our schools.

Once again, our trust has exceeded national averages in many areas and continues to demonstrate consistent improvement, even in the face of challenges. These results are a testament to the commitment of staff across our trust and the talented young people in our schools. They reflect THAT’s unwavering commitment to continuous improvement and to ensuring that every pupil has the best chance to succeed, because these outcomes open doors to their future.

We are proud to highlight just a few of the achievements across our schools:

The Howard School

THAT is proud to share that The Howard School has achieved its strongest ever set of results. This year marks record-breaking achievement across every benchmark, including the match-up between English and Maths. When comparing subject performance against national data for 2023/24, Sports Science delivered an outstanding performance, placing the school in the top 4% nationally. Photography ranked in the top 5% of schools nationally for pupils achieving a grade 5+, and Biology stood out in the top 1% for pupils achieving a grade 4+.

 

The Abbey School

THAT is proud to share that The Abbey School saw its highest achievement across many benchmarks, including 4+ and 5+ outcomes in English and Maths. When comparing subject performance against national data for 2023/24, Multimedia impressed with a ranking in the top 26% of schools nationally, while French is in the top 38% of schools for pupils achieving a grade 4+. Sports Science delivered a strong performance, ranking in the top 19% of schools for pupils achieving a Distinction.

Waterfront UTC

THAT is proud to share that Waterfront UTC has sustained and improved outcomes, with a 25% increase in pupils achieving a grade 5+ in English and Maths. Waterfront continues to offer fantastic opportunities with employers such as Laing O’Rouke and Saracen Horse Feed. These partnerships have enabled access to a range of apprenticeships, which makes WUTC unique in Medway. Waterfront UTC is also welcoming its first cohort of Sixth Form T Level students in September, with exciting placements at firms including Willmott Dixon, Apex Contractors, and Enable.


 

 

Hurstmere School

THAT is proud to share that Hurstmere School has once again secured a strong set of outcomes, matching its best-ever outcomes from last year. When comparing subject performance against national data for 2023/24, History ranked in the top 30% of schools nationally, Geography in the top 42%, and although with fewer pupils, Spanish and Statistics ranked in the top 5% of schools nationally.

These outcomes reflect our shared high ambition for all young people and our commitment to trust-wide improvement together.
