Investing in Learning Environments Across Our Trust This summer, The Howard Academy Trust invested over £1.3 million in capital improvement projects across our schools, enhancing facilities, strengthening safety, and creating inspiring environments for pupils and staff. While much of this work focuses on essential behind-the-scenes improvements that keep our schools running smoothly, the Trust has also delivered visible, high-impact developments. At The Howard School, several significant projects were completed. New signage was installed throughout the site to highlight the school's core values: Be Good, Be Kind, Be Hardworking. The school also benefited from a £100,000 upgrade to its Wi-Fi network, supporting digital learning across the site. A new safeguarding fence was installed to create a more secure boundary, and the main entrance and car park were resurfaced, with a further £125,000 invested in this improvement. In addition, several blocks of toilets were refurbished, including one transformed entirely by the school's own in-house team, demonstrating exceptional teamwork and dedication to their school environment. These projects reflect the Trust's continued commitment to providing high-quality, safe, and inspiring learning environments where pupils can thrive, now and in the future. #Education #SchoolImprovement #CapitalInvestment #LearningEnvironment #LearningSpaces #TheHowardAcademyTrust #PrimaryEducation #FacilitiesDevelopment #EducationInKent #KentEducation #TrustTHAT

Investing in Learning Environments Across Our Trust This summer, The Howard Academy Trust invested over £1.3 million in capital improvement projects across our schools, addressing essential health and safety needs, improving facilities, and creating inspiring environments for pupils and staff. At Hurstmere School, we invested over £350,000 to completely replace the school's IT infrastructure and Wi-Fi. Since joining the Trust on 1st September 2025, Hurstmere faced inadequate Wi-Fi and serious IT infrastructure issues. Working closely with Tel Group, we have transformed the school's network, ensuring a secure, reliable IT system and Wi-Fi that fully supports teaching and learning across the school. This investment reflects the Trust's commitment to providing the resources and technology necessary for schools to thrive and for pupils to achieve their full potential. #Education #SchoolImprovement #CapitalInvestment #LearningEnvironment #LearningSpaces #TheHowardAcademyTrust #PrimaryEducation #FacilitiesDevelopment #EducationInKent #KentEducation #TrustTHAT
Directors, Local Academy Board Members, Governors and Principals from across the Trust gathered last Friday for our annual Governance Conference at Historic Dockyard Chatham. Attendees discussed LAB effectiveness, the renewed Ofsted Inspection Framework, and safeguarding best practice, to ensure that they can continue to provide high quality governance at their respective academies. We were also fortunate to welcome guest speaker Shaun Brown from The Difference, whose aim is to improve life outcomes of the most vulnerable children by raising the status and expertise of those who educate them. We wish to thank everyone for their time and contributions to the meeting. It is wonderful to have you help us create a culture of dignity, inclusivity, respect and ambition, as well as keeping us on track with our strategic direction across all our schools, so that all pupils and staff can thrive.
