Cathy qualified to teach in 1991 having gained a BA (Hons) and a PGCE from the University of London. Cathy has experience as an Executive Headteacher, Headteacher and senior leader in several schools. She has worked with leadership teams in both primary and secondary settings and has extensive experience of leading school improvement.
She leads School Improvement for The Howard Academy Trust. When THAT welcomed a Special Measures school into its family of schools, Cathy met with HMI and led on school improvement planning. She has been involved in School Improvement in all phases, including supporting primary and secondary schools to improve their practice and outcomes for pupils. Cathy has also had experience of supporting a University Technical College to move out category, towards becoming securely Ofsted good. Cathy has completed the NPQH and the NPQEL.
Cathy is committed to the key importance of appropriate Professional Development for Leaders and Teachers. As an accredited National College Facilitator, she has facilitated Middle and Senior leadership programmes for Senior Managers at Primary, Secondary and Special schools.
She has extensive experience of Governance and has been a Governor in both primary and secondary schools. Cathy has also been a member of an IEB.
